A typical person can drink anywhere from two to even ten cups of tea a day. Most health professionals recommend around three to five cups a day, depending on what type of tea you want to drink. 

I, for one, am a huge fan of caffeinated tea, as it gives me the energy boost I need in the morning, without the coffee breath. Plus, there seems to be a lot more flavor options when it comes to caffeinated tea than coffee. 

For example, Earl Grey has hints of bergamot, which gives it a nice citrus aftertaste. Japanese green tea has a distinct earthy bitterness that allows the drinker to relish their cup.

While caffeinated teas are enjoyable for both taste and effect, teas that boost your metabolism are also something worth considering, as they promote better digestion and weight loss, all while you’re sitting at the computer. 

The tea does quite a bit of the work for you, lowering your cholesterol and getting rid of harmful toxins in the body, all from one cup! 

Most people think of merely green tea when they think of tea that can help you burn fat. But there are several teas for boosting your metabolism out there to help your body stay fit and healthy.

Ginger tea has been used for centuries to treat nausea and indigestion, both of which slow down your metabolism. It also helps to widen blood vessels, allowing more waste and food to be moved faster through your body. 

It’s an easy enough cup to make after purchasing the tea from a store, or you can even go straight to the source by boiling a ginger root in hot water. 

Ginger tea has been known to cause heartburn if taken in large amounts, and shouldn’t be combined with blood thinners.

It’s an antimicrobial that not only removes toxins but boosts your immune system as well. Scientists have also found that turmeric helps prevent memory loss and weaken Alzheimer’s disease, helping the brain to heal itself. 

With those benefits alone, what’s not to love about turmeric? 

Turmeric tea is helpful in treating indigestion, IBS, and even Crohn’s disease. It lowers blood cholesterol levels, helping your body to remove toxic waste.

When trying to stay fit and healthy, green tea is an easy substitute for coffee or soda, both of which have higher calories and can give unwanted side effects, like jitters or indigestion.
